A little bit about Angela Paltram, Head trainer
Angela, a native of Austria, was introduced to Dressage at the early age of six. She was fortunate to train for over 15 years at the barn of Ernst Bachinger, an Oberbereiter of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, multiple Austrian Champion and former director of the School. Her riding education she received was truley classical and reached to the Grand Prix level.
Moving to the United States, Angela continued her Dressage education with numerous well known local trainers such as Guenter Seidel, Shannon Peters, Mete Rosenkranz,Christine Traurig, and several clinicians first and foremost Karl Mikolka.
In preparation to run her own business, Angela completed her studies at the University of San Diego by earning her M.B.A.
Angela is very much a believer in the holistic approach when it comes to the well-fare of her equine clients. Over the years she found that many soundness issues can be contributed to muscle spasms, unbalanced shoeing, miss fitting saddles and poor equine dental care. Angela is always striving to increase her education and knowledge of Bio-mechanics, equine massage and energy work.
This led her to be quite successful with both equine massage and energy work and to have a rarely found understanding of bio-mechanics (the understanding of how muscles, joints and ligaments are influenced by one another).
She also built a team of professionals around her, including Veterinarians, Chiropractors, Saddle fitters and Farriers who are in the top level of their field, to help with the care of the equines under her care.
Angela approaches her workouts for the equines with the individual in mind. She always checks for muscular tightness to be sure to use proper exercises to alleviate muscle spasms and to help the horses move more freely. She has been using this approach time and time again to rehabilitate horses which were thought to be permanently out of commission or were considered poor movers to improve their range of motion and thus improve their movements. Angela is a strong believer in following the Training scale she says it is so important to start the horses right to have a health horse when klimbing through the levels. She has ample experience to take young horses through the steps to become powerful and healthy athletes down the road.
When it comes to the rider, she focuses on balance and for the rider to stay in proper posture and position throughout the ride. Mastering the basics is one of her biggest goals for her clients, because once you master those the rest is simple.
