I’ve had the pleasure of taking lessons with Angela Paltram, and her knowledge and guidance have helped me tremendously in understanding proper balance, alignment, and placement in the saddle. She has helped me become more aware of how my position affects the horse and how important it is to develop a balanced, effective, and harmonious partnership.

What I appreciate about Angela’s approach is her emphasis on the fundamentals of good horsemanship, body awareness, and correct positioning, principles that are valuable regardless of discipline. Her teaching has given me a deeper appreciation for how proper balance and rider biomechanics can make such a difference in the way a horse moves and responds.

This article’s discussion of classical and Western dressage is especially meaningful because, at the heart of both, there is a shared goal of balance, communication, and harmony between horse and rider. I’m grateful for what I’ve learned from Angela and highly value her insight and dedication to helping riders develop a better understanding of themselves and their horses.
